SOSSÂ® Invisible Hinge model #218IC is ideally suited for most types of doors 1-3/4" to 2" thick. The SOSS Invisible Closer gives you a closer that is totally invisible from either side when the door is closed. The closure rate is completely adjustable with an allen wrench after installation, and does not require removal of the spring closer. Installation can be either inside the door itself or inside the door jamb. SOSSÂ® Invisible Hinges open a full 180Â° and are a single action hinge. The Underwriters Laboratories labeled the 218IC SOSS Invisible Closer hinges can be used on hollow metal, sheet metal, tin clad, steel composite or wood core swinging type fire doors and frames with 20 minute ratings Allow one closer for every 55 lbs of door weight or fraction thereof or one closer for every 20" of door height or portion thereof, whichever calculation demands more closers. Please reference our hinge sizing chart for total number of hinges required. Recommended spacing for use of one spring closer is half of the distance from the center of the door to the center of the top hinge. Please reference hinge spacing drawing for multiple closers.
